MINIMALISM. When we say minimal, let's talk about a deceptively simple, yet challenging form of poetry. Ernest HemingwaY is one famous poet known as the master of minimalism with his distinctive writing style characterized by economy of words and understatements.
The essentials of Minimalism is about writing a short-short story with exactly 10 sentences, and ONLY ten sentences. The first sentence must contain exactly 10 words, the next 9, and so on, until the final sentence of just one word.
In my attempt to minimalism, this is what I'd come up after 1 hour:
10 Someone has called my name and her voice is tempting.
9 I step out slowly amidst the house’s horrifying darkness.
8 I hold my shivering hands, memorizing my steps.
7 Breath is heard like a stupid hell.
6 In the distance, white is glimpsed.
5 I touch it, it’s wet.
4 The horror-struck shout’s heard.
3 Mom’s facial cream!
2 I’ve mistaken —
1 Ghost.
